Dystylosaurus Dorsal Vertebra
Dystylosaurus Dorsal Vertebra. Fossils Replica. Dry Mesa Upper Jurassic Sauropod.
* Measures 43 inch. (110 cm)
* 18 inch centrum (46 cm)
* Cast in durable Polyurethane resins
* Made in USA.
The holotype dorsal vertebra of Dystylosaurus. Now considered a junior synonym of Supersaurus, on very solid grounds. Incidentally, unlike the neural spines of most non-titanosaurian sauropods, the neural spine of this vertebra is not simply a set of intersecting plates of bone.
Supersaurus is a genus of diplodocid sauropod dinosaur first discovered by Vivian Jones of Delta, Colorado, in late Jurassic period rocks of the middle Morrison Formation of Colorado in 1972.
